I want the real JESUS
Not the one given out at churches with cute coffee mugs
I want the real jesus
Taken out of the glass
without the bubble wrap
The real JESUS who holds your heart
while dancing to the sound of your existence.
who collects your tears
but doesn’t tally your wrongs
breaks down your fears
disciplines with real love
I want the real Jesus
the one who gives rest and takes burdens.
who puts a calling in your heart and guides your feet
I want the real JESUS who is tender
but understands his child’s needs.
The who sweeps you off your feet .
and separate’s the real from the wheat
Ostracized , Commercialized, and Monetized is what I’ve seen
I want the real JESUS
